So guess what?!
I have finally made an appointment with a local tattoo parlour to discuss design options and fonts for a few tats I am going to get.
Yes, I said the word few: one, is existing and the other two will be new. Three equals few doesn't it? :)
What I'm going to do is get both my kids names on my wrists (well, we'll see how much it hurts first) and also enhance and sexify my GiddyUp tattoo. I was quoted about two hundred for all, but that could change depending on how involved in design my tattoos will be.
And of course as a graphic designer I will naturally oversee the design in all stages. I have some preliminary sketches done already, but I would like to work with the tattoo artist to get their take on it because maybe they can suggest something I didn't think about.
But I'm excited!!
I've been wanting to get more tats for years and now I am finally just going to do it! Yay me! And of course I will blog my progress and then soon enough comes the official picture gallery! Hoorah!
Hoorah!

Bridal Show March 1st!

Yes! You read me right, yet another bridal show under my belt! I am really liking them, they prove to be a great way to spend an afternoon, or at least for me anyways!
It started off as a good day. My girlfriend Nicole came to help out for the day to see what all the fuss was about. She was nice enough to bring flowers for the table as well as suckers! And who doesn't like suckers?
We packed up her car and sped off down the country road on our way to the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club, gossiping the whole way about people places and things. There are some things I learned about her and a couple things she learned about me as well. It was great conversation between two great people.
So we get to the venue about 20 minutes before doors opened and I was non-stresed. I had all my gear and time to set up and possibly introduce myself to other vendors before perching myself at my booth. Life was good.
We hauled everything in and began to set up. I reached down to grab my portfolios when my hand went through a space of air.
They.weren't.there!
OMG!
Panick set in immediately as I frantically looked around hoping to God I wasn't stupid enough to forget the ONE thing that I was there to show off!
And I was.
So we left the rest of the set up as it was, half way done. Jumped in her car and sped back to my house. Yes, we were clocking speeds I won't mention but we made it to my house and back, which would have normally took close to 45 minutes in about half an hour. I was freaking out a little (actually, alot) the whole time too, lol!
Upon returning to the club, Nicole looked at me and said "Okay we are only 15 minutes late, all we gotta do is set the portfolios up on the table, are you still stressed because you shouldn't be now."
I let out a sigh of relief and said I was no longer stressed. She cracked up laughing for some strange reason and says to me "Good Lees, because to be honest with you I was freaking out the whole time too but I knew if you knew that it would have made it worse!"
We had a good laugh, ran inside and set up. Done in about 3 minutes. From the looks of things it wasn't too busy and it didn't get busy until about half an hour into it so I was relieved.
But in my defense, even the most organized people have an off day! :) I'm allowed!
Nicole was an amazing help! She came up with little things to put in my schpeel and we had a great time. We met a nice n' super cool photographer named David Irvine who is going to do head shots for me; he's really good, his work speaks for himself. You can check it out at www.jdwiphotography.com.
And we even watched an entertaining game of golf by a long golfer out on the greens mid way through the day!
But for future reference I am now going to incorporate and use a list of items for me to bring.
Silly me.
It won't happen again, that's for sure!
And yes, just so you know, the suckers were a hit!

Something Fun To Do
So I’m sitting here one day thinking that I would love to finally get a handwriting analysis done. I did some quick googling and found a lady in London who’s been doing it professionally for about 30 years. Her name is Diann Vail and she’s got a Bachelor of Arts in the area of document examining; she’s a certified Graphoanalyst. Wow that’s a big word for a small girl like me! I’m going to use that word in conversations in the future so I sound smart in my social circles, lol.
Diann has done work for the police, for court proceedings and for little people like myself. I contacted her after perusing her website (http://www.diannvail.com/) to set up a time that I could come see her. She suggested that since I was from out of town that we could do all correspondence via email. “How convenient!” I thought.
What she requires is for you to submit a page or two about anything that comes off the top of your head in handwritten formation and for a fee she would analyze it and send the summary back to you.
So I did.
I wrote about how I started out as a writer at the tender age of about 12; I was in the 7th grade. I didn’t want to write anything that was too autobiographical because let’s be honest, she could just tell me what I already told her and that’s no fun. I wanted to write something that was important to me but something that didn’t shed too much light onto who I was in general. I mean, that was up to her to tell me, right?
It took a couple of weeks. I waited with baited breath as I was so excited to get something like this done. I’m into these kind of things; psychics, palm readings, etc. If anything, it’s for fun. But it’s also quite shocking to see how close in proximity these total strangers are in telling you about yourself and the world around you.
It was a pretty indepth analysis. She told me some things I already knew about myself and other things that I hadn’t thought about before, but were correct. It was very personal but I can tell you this: according to my handwriting, I am a creative independent soul who lives in the moment and is a people person. Sounds general right?
She goes on to explain other aspects of myself such as I’m the type of person who can show interest in what’s going on around me but yet at the same time, I am able to carefully tend to the details. It’s true!
I’m also mindful of my own needs and abilities before I rush into anything; relationships, jobs, contracts. In other words I'm the type that thinks things through.
Getting this analysis done was a great moment for me, it was like a breath of fresh air. Something fun and engaging. Something that makes you think. And I like to think.
Diann was very polite and easy to deal with. She’s knows her stuff that’s for sure. If you think you would like to get this done for yourself, I mean why not, you can contact her at the abovementioned website address. Tell her I sent ya! :)

le Theatre
Last night I went with my girlfriend Nicole to see a play at our local Community Theatre House called Bedtime Stories. I will try and get a little more descriptive beyond "it was gooood", but no guarantees, lol.
The play was loosely based on the theory "if these walls could talk" or rather, that's what I took from it. It was about several couples and how their lives unfold in a bedroom; from a couple in their mid-fifties who were being paid to have sex on air to increase ratings, to a man dying in his bed who gave forgiveness to an old flame, to a burglary, to a pending divorce. All the stories were connected by characters or happenings and ended quite nicely with the "pending divorce" couple reconnecting where else, but on a bed.
I don't know about you but I don't think I could kiss my fellow actor in front of a crowd like that, lol. Kudos to those who can pull that off!
Anyways, it was a cute play, I really enjoyed it and as I said to my friend as we left, we should come back on a regular basis and dip into our cultural side!

All things green...
Not sure if you heard about this or not; if you are a girlfriend/fan/know of George Stroumboulopoulos, you will probably have heard about the One Million Acts of Green. I watch the Hour so I know these things, lol.
Might I say it's about time someone created such a fun and easy task to help our environment! You can read more at http://green.cbc.ca/ and see what you can do to help.
I am.
I recycle, use energy saving light bulbs, and shut the lights off when I leave the room. We also compost our vegetable waste, and use eco-friendly products to clean our home.
I rock..I know! :)
So the question is...what's YOUR act of green?

Holy oh my goodness!
I'm so sorry, I haven't written in FOREVER. Since last year! I can officially say that now I guess, lol!
I'm soooo busy with with line expansion. The more I work on it the more I hone my skills and pump out some great stuff! I cannot wait for the unveiling!
I knew initally it would be alot of work, but of course comes with interruptions from daily life and of course, the holiday rush. So the launch is still coming it just may take a few more weeks so please be patient, it will come!! :)
Anwyays, just a quick hello from me to you...talk soon!
